CABI Blog

Rachel Wood

Editor, Content Development (Animal Science/Veterinary Medicine)

I’ve been producing content for CABI’s veterinary products since 1995. Starting out as an abstractor, I am now mostly involved with quality aspects of the CAB Abstracts database. I have always had a strong interest in animal health and working on the most comprehensive database covering veterinary medicine has given me the opportunity to follow exciting developments across the world – from BSE, to avian influenza, to kidney transplants for cats, to stem cell therapy for horses.

Since its launch in early 2007, I’ve been writing articles for Vet Med Resource, an internet resource developed specifically for the practicing veterinarian. This is a great opportunity to bring a database already well-known by the academic veterinary community directly to the veterinary practice.

With a background in Animal Science (University of Nottingham), I also produce content for another internet resource, animalscience.com, and I am editor of Poultry Abstracts.
